About

Vusumuzi Luthuli grew up at Lindelani.

While I was in primary school I preferred drawing cars, aeroplanes and soccer players than following the syllabus. I was acknowledged and inspired by my late father who was multi-extremely talented.

I would see my father building things to furnish our home. It was when I worked for professor David McQuoid-Mason at University of KwaZulu-Natal during holidays when I realised that I was attracted and inspired by the paintings on the wall. In 2008 I enrolled for extended course to qualify for Fine Art at Durban University of Technology.

I completed National Diploma in Fine Art 2011 and graduated in 2012. Today I specialise in abstract painting and sculpture. Most of my artworks is inspired by nature and political issues.
Coming from disadvantage background would categorise as great priviledge towards the beneficiary for who
I am today and mindset as a critical thinker.
